iRover and the NALS Conference

Has anyone attending the NALS Conference in Reno have any info on the Leica iRover system for $5000?!?

Sounds too good to be true.

Pretty sure that is just the down payment and you get multiyear financing. I would be thrilled to be wrong though

Still a deal

For $5000 and then agreeing to pay $2500 for SmartNet in each of the next two years, you get the GS12 system that they have been selling for $15,000.

A pretty good deal considering the GNSS upgrade for my GRX1230's cost $6950. Getting a complete new system seems like a better deal to me.

Definitely intriguing. I just wish the network could cover up in the coastal range - the few places here in the Bay Area we deal with larger, sectionalized lands. I doubt it does. Still, quite a nice product.

Some ne from Leica was given the mic at the conference and allowed to announce to everyone the deal described by Steve Martin. I image it got them a lot of foot traffic at their booth at the conference.

Hey Kurt, I'm that someone...

Yes, it is $5000. Actually there are two packages, one for $5000 without a alpha keyboard and one for $5500 with an alpha keyboard. The iRover is a network rover and works in any network where you have a subscription. This rover, normally $12,000, is selling for $5500 with a three year subscription to our network. The first year is complimentary and the second/third years are $2500. Think of it like buying a cell phone where you can buy an iPhone off the internet for $600 or you can by it with a plan for $150. Same concept. However you slice it, this is a really good receiver, GLONASS and all, for a fraction of the price of our competitors. If you want to see on in action, give me a ring at 714-308-3889.

It includes our exclusive dual ambiguity solution (six sigma reliability) and our weighed meaning of point data. These two features, exclusive to Leica, will ensure you get the right answer every time.

mmm, new software, no network in my area, sounds like a great deal if I was in the right area.
