Contact For Forest Service Records in Central Sierra Nevada

I'm working on a little boundary survey in the Central Sierra Nevada. The parcel is adjacent to Highway 88 and just west of Kirkwood. I've got Forest Service property on a couple sides, and the realtor said he found a Forest Service disk.

I'd like to know if anyone has a contact at the Forest Service that I could speak to about maps/records on any corners they may have set in the area. If no one has a suggestion I'll try a cold call to the Forest Service, but I thought you guys could save me some time.

Thanks.

You should check with their office in Placerville. I don't recall the surveyor's name there, but if you were to call the El Dorado County Surveyor, they should be able to get you the name and number.

Contact Mary Neiderberger-Lee at the Eldorado National Forest at 530-621-5259. Or contact my survey records office at 916-978-4330. We have much of the records you are probably looking for.

Thank You!

I almost called you directly Mr. Page, but I didn't want to be a nuiscance. Thanks for responding to my post. The property is one the Amador/El Dorado County line, so I'll be in Placerville today doing research. I'll check with the County Surveyor.

I'll also give Lance a call.

Thank you both for your assistance.

Don't worry about that. Feel free to call. Just be aware that I am no in my office most of the time. You might catch me there Mondays or Saturdays. Otherwise, you could leave a number that you could be reached in the evenings.
