About the Speaker
Mr. Lynch began his surveying career in 2000, with a small firm located in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has had the privilege of working for several distinguished Land Surveyors in the Bay Area and San Diego, accumulating surveying knowledge and skills through mentoring and self-study. Currently, Mr. Lynch is the Survey Department Manager for Burkett & Wong Engineers. The firm includes structural engineers, civil engineers, land surveyors and land planning, with a corporate office located in San Diego, California and a satellite office located Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Lynch is responsible for all land surveying, mapping and construction staking activities, nearly 90% of which are publicly funded projects requiring compliance with prevailing wage and apprenticeship standard laws. Mr. Lynch obtained his California Professional Land Surveyor License in 2007, passing the exam on the first attempt. He has previously served the profession as the California Land Surveyors Association San Diego Chapter 2010 President and as an instructor for the Chapters Land Surveyor Review Session, teaching the Subdivision Map Act and Land Surveyors Act to candidates. Mr. Lynch is currently preparing to take the Nevada State Exam in the fall. In his free time, he enjoys maintaining his 5 acre ranch where he grows his own food for a sustainable lifestyle, raising his 4 year old protégé daughter (she loves to make maps with her dad) and exploring the back country of San Diego County.
