After reading through this exam, I would have to say that the content is a fair test of one's surveying knowledge. With low pass rate and all the whooplaw, I was expecting to see some nightmare questions! Easy for me to say because I'm already licensed. These are the same style questions from the 90's.

I will dust off the rust and give it a try! As you know, when and if you encountered these problems in real life, you would have lots of time and help.
