Bob,

At the risk of sounding dumb, where did the +/- 2% after the U.S. Survey Foot values come from? Since the metric values of the state plane coordinates were given to three places (mm), the converted uncertainty due to round-off error would be only +/- 0.002 US SF (0.0005 m), not 0.02! Was the statistical error information given in another part of the problem?

It is indeed difficult for me to understand how so many got it wrong!

Up from the dead... Off topic to boot.

I think the last post was referring to the sample problem posted at the board's web site. I had the same question, but found Bob's answser elsewhere.

On topic...

I really appreciate these sample problems. I don't have any real world experience with photogrammetry, and probably never will, so this and other problems help remind me what I need to study.
