Does anybody know where Copperweld monuments can still be purchased?
We've been using Copperweld monuments for many years now. In fact, a local jurisdiction even specs. them for centerline subdivision monuments. However, our local supplier isn't able to get them anymore, and I haven't been able to find any searching the net.
For those that may not have seen them before, I attached a picture found on Charles Swart's site (http://www.landsurveyor.info/monuments4.htm). They're basically a 1.5" brass cap pressed fit onto a copperweld rod. The monument can be driven in as a single unit
The monuments we use are identical to that in the photo, only with an 18" shaft.
Bersten can custom make a similar monument with a brass cap crimped onto a 9/16" stainless rod but they are $55 each, minimum purchase of 11.
