For those who will be joining the “Sage Quarter Corner Expedition”next Tuesday, March 16th, 2004, the following Lat/Lon are on my backyard:

Lat: N 33 30 48.98285
Lon: W 117 07 31.21729

Please drop me an email at ianw2@adelphia.net or ian@iwls.net if you plan on joining us. I’ll provide time schedules and details by reply email.

We’ll enjoy breakfast together at one of our local establishments before proceeding on to the site. Lunch in the field will be provided.

After the fieldwork, we’ll repair to On the Border (a fine local Mexican restaurant) for a “no host” dinner.

We should have a number of equipment setups as Chad Dickey, from Lewis and Lewis, and Jason Killpat, from Topcon, have expressed an interest in joining us.

With the number of surveyors who have expressed an interest in joining us, if we can’t find the stones, they don’t exist anymore.

I’m looking forward to meeting many of you for the first time and to working with you in the field.

Ian,
Sounds like you have discovered a perfect method of employing an enthusiastic "vounteer" crew to help find that elusive corner. You may be on to something here. Who was that character who had the whole neighborhood just itching to whitewash the fence for him? If I wasn't so far north of you, just getting a day in the field would be worth it. I will actually be vacationing in Southern Cal. this summer. I spent years trying to get out, and now I come back down just so I can wear shorts and a tee-shirt in the evening. Nothing doing up here on the redwood coast. And would you quit bringing up that Mexican restaurant? It's just not fair...

Hope you all have a great day. Let us know how it turns out.

Arcata, Ca.

Ian,
Is this the impossible survey you sent me a copy of? Good Luck with the search. Seriously, this would make good story for the Cal Surveyor.
