Does anyone know when Charles Healy's LS # (#0001)was issued? I though it was in July 0f 1893, but I may be wrong.

July 1, 1891 was the date the first Board of Examining Surveyors was created. Since Healy was first in line to be approved, I assume it was shortly after that. See "Chaining the Land" by Francois "Bud" Uzes.

Charles Terraine Healey was issued his license on July 20, 1891, showing an address of 101 S. Broadway, Los Angeles.

It never occured to me to look for the info in Bud's book. My apologies, Bud!

Apparently, Wyoming is claiming to be the first stae to regulate Land Surveying and issue liceses. Their date is 1907.
